Runner proposes to girlfriend at Boston Marathon finish line
Last year, runner Greg Picklesimer finished the Boston Marathon a few hours before bombs exploded near the finish line, killing three people and injuring 260 others.
This year, he ran the famous race again — this time, with a ring in his back pocket.
Shortly after crossing the finish line, Picklesimer dropped to one knee and proposed to his girlfriend, Carla White.

"After last year I realized the people you love and your life can be taken so quickly," Picklesimer tells CBS Boston. "I didn't want to lose that so I decided to come back and seal the deal."

"I've waited my whole life for him so this is the happiest day of my life," White says. "I'm glad he's safe and he ran well."
"You know she loves me if she's going to take my name," jokes Picklesimer.
Picklesimer wasn't the only runner to pop the question yesterday.

John Duncan proposed to girlfriend, Jodi Nili, also an avid runner, on Heartbreak Hill after he completed the marathon — for the 16th time.
"This is my 16th Boston Marathon, I've trained thousands of runners for team and training. I love Boston, I love to run. 136 marathons, what better place than Boston. We met, she trained for her first marathon in November in Fresno, just ran her second marathon in Knoxville three weeks ago," he tells CNN. "So what better place than Boston, the mecca of running?"
