See the Incredible Fairy Tale Treehouse Prince George Gets to Call His Own

He’s always lived in grand style: first at Kensington Palace in London, and, more recently, to a magnificent estate in the English countryside, with his parents and new baby sister.
But now, two-year-old Prince George has new digs where he can hide away by himself when royal life gets too stuffy. He’s got his very own treehouse, located in the garden grounds at his grandfather Prince Charles’s country estate, Highgrove.
It’s a fitting residence for the toddler prince, as it was originally built in 1989 for his father, Prince William, and and his uncle, Prince Harry. Prince Charles reportedly spruced it up to suit his adorable grandson, who recently turned two, according to the Daily Mail.

George’s new palace in the sky isn’t your ordinary tree house. It’s hidden in a section of the gardens called the Stumpery, thanks to all the old tree stumps and logs there. Supported by slate pillars, the house features a pointed thatched roof as well as a leaf-shaped front door, reports the Daily Mail.
Back when William and Harry played in it, the treehouse was nicknamed Hollyrood House, in tribute to the holly tree it once sat in. The holly tree is gone, and the house no longer has the rope swing and trap door the young princes enjoyed when they were growing up.
Maybe Prince Charles fixed up the treehouse to entice his grandson to come visit more often. Or perhaps it’s just a sweet retreat where a little royal can score some alone time. Either way, we have a feeling George is going to have a blast there.
