Michelle Obama, Sarah Jessica Parker & Kerry Washington Team Up

They’re not exactly the most unlikely trio: three of the most influential women in the world, one in politics, one in fashion, and one just generally beloved by America. But it’s still surprising to see Michelle Obama, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kerry Washington on the cover of Glamour magazine—together. The trio’s teaming up on a still unnamed initiative, one they’ll most likely reveal in the May issue of the magazine.

Last month, the President and Mrs. Obama announced their support of Let Girls Learn. What started as an USAID effort last year, would now have the full weight of the White House behind it. ”A good education can lift you from the most humble circumstances into a life you never could have imagined…I want to use my time and platform as first lady and beyond to make a real impact,” the First Lady said in her speech, before embarking on a trip to Japan and Cambodia to spread the message. She’ll be working closely with the Peace Corps to implement the program in 11 countries to start.

When Let Girls Learn kicked off last year, celebrities played a huge role. Stars like Jennifer Garner, Josh Duhamel, and Anne Hathaway filmed a video to spread the message. So it’d make sense that Mrs. Obama would recruit her own celebrity friends to draw as much international attention to the program as possible.

We’ve reached out to Glamour for comment and will update as soon as we have more information on the initiative.
