Love at first flight: 'Katie from Nova Scotia' sought by Irish Romeo

Love at first flight: Irish Romeo's mysterious Katie found

A summer vacation in Europe has thrown a Nova Scotia woman into the spotlight in Ireland — and she likely doesn't even know it.

The mystery woman is named Katie and she seems to have won the heart of an Irishman on a plane.

Last Thursday, Jamie Kelly boarded a Ryanair flight from Barcelona to Dublin.

He noticed a pretty woman sitting in the row behind him and offered up the free seats in his row.

“We started chatting and hit it off. I think we made a connection anyways,” said the 24-year-old from Galway.

He became separated from her as they went through customs and couldn’t find her around the luggage carousel.

His friends started a social media campaign for her with the hashtag #loveatfirstflight.

He knows she’s named Katie — at least, that’s the name she gave him — and she has three siblings. She’s 27 and in Ireland this week.

Kelly’s search story aired on national Irish radio Friday morning.

“I originally looked for her Facebook and couldn't find her. And I went to the airline and they couldn't do anything for me. So then I went on the [Ray] D’Arcy show today and they couldn't find her.”

Kelly hopes to find Katie — and that she’s not too embarrassed by the fuss.
