How To Make Kale Chips, Treat Me Right

Kale Chips

Makes 4 cups

Dry your leaves very well. Any excess water will steam in the oven and leave you with soggy bits of kale — not crispy chips.

1 bunch kale, ribs removed, leaves washed and dried
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
½ teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Preheat oven to 300°F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.

Tear kale leaves into bite-size pieces. Place in a large bowl and drizzle with oil. Massage the oil into the leaves. Add salt and garlic powder and toss to combine.

Spread kale on prepared baking sheet. Bake 15 minutes, then rotate pan 180°F. Bake another 15 minutes, or until kale is crispy.

Let kale cool for 1 minute before serving.
