March 17 is St. Patrick's Day -- an excuse to celebrate all things Irish (and to drink a green beer!), and the day when many people honor the patron saint of Ireland. (Much of what we've been told about St. Patrick, including that story about banishing the snakes from Ireland, is pure blarney. But he did help instill Christianity in the country.)
