Found: 3 Lipsticks that Flatter Every Woman
Last week, I saw a picture of a model wearing a salmon pink lipstick that looked stunning. And while I didn't have her porcelain skin (or, OK, her otherwise stunning features), I was convinced that if I got the right pink lipstick, I, too, would look that amazing.
But when I went to Sephora, I was overwhelmed by the endless rows of pink-colored tubes. Is this pink warm enough? What are my undertones? Does this one look too coral-y? (If only I had had this helpful guide.) I got so flustered that after trying on and wiping off what felt like a bazillion shades, I left the store empty-handed. Major fail.

I asked a posse of celebrity makeup artists for the shades they think are universally flattering. Then, I subjected four women with varying skin tones and undertones to test 'em out. Here are the winners -- the three colors that work on everyone.
LIGHT PINK ON LIGHT-MEDIUM SKIN WITH YELLOW UNDERTONES
Lipstick: Prestige Lipstick in Passion, $6.50
The expert says: "I like this shade on Stephanie. While the lipstick does have a blue base, it's pink enough to flatter Stephanie's yellow undertones. She can also apply Lancome Juicy Tube, $18, on top of the lipstick. It's a clear gloss that would really pump up the color and make her lips look more vibrant," says Nemes.
Stephanie says: "I was surprised it wasn't a little chalkier, because frosted lipsticks (like this one) tend to show up whiter against my natural lip color, but this is a true pink, so it looks great."

CORAL ON FAIR SKIN WITH PINK UNDERTONES
Lipstick: Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lip Color in Coral Lustre, $7.49
The expert says: "This color is very pretty on Mandy. Mandy's lucky because she has yellow and pink undertones in her skin, so warm and cool lipsticks will work on her. This lipstick is a great balance of the two," says Nemes.
Mandy says: "This is such a versatile color. I think it really works with my fair skin tone."

WINE RED ON MEDIUM SKIN WITH OLIVE UNDERTONES
Lipstick: Two Faced Lip of Luxury in Drop Dead Red, $16
The expert says: "The color is like a ruby and looks brilliant on Devran's lips. It's beautiful and balances her skin tone," says Nemes.
Devran says: "I love this shade! I normally stay away from reds, but this complements my hair and skin tone. I would definitely wear this, especially for a nighttime event."
