The unfortunate effect is especially pronounced on easily marred suede shoes and heels. Our solution? Keep a second pair of shoes in your car—any sort of backless shoe, such as sandals, slides, or slingbacks, will do—and switch into them while you drive. Sure, it’s an extra step to add to your routine, but ultimately you’re prolonging the lifespan of your shoes.
