Charlize Theron's Top 3 Beauty Secrets
Even getting into character (and a ton of prosthetic stage makeup ) for her Oscar-winning role in the 2003 movie Monster couldn't make Charlize Theron look ugly. This South African beauty always manages to look gorgeous and glowing.
We went to her makeup guru, Emilio Uribe, to find out how he preps the star for red carpet perfection.
1. Prep the skin: "Before makeup application, it's important to have a good skincare regimen," Uribe says. "Makeup shouldn't look heavy or cakey. The most important part is to take care of your skin and just use makeup to accentuate your natural beauty, as Charlize does."
He says the star (and Dior spokesperson) likes to moisturize moisturize moisturize, using the super-rich $350 Dior L-Or de Vie cream. She also makes skin a nice smooth base for makeup by using Brilliance New York Age Defying Eye Serum for both under eyes and on décolleté for a 'refreshed' look.
"This serum is a little secret tool for any red carpet event… you just dab it on the face and on the neckline area too as this is where you can see the first signs of aging," Uribe says.

2. Lip service: Theron is all about a bright, bold red lip. To get it, Uribe says he uses Dior Addict Extreme in Incognito, which not only goes on shiny, but lasts a long time too.
Expert tip: Be sure to apply a few dabs of powder around the lip line so the color doesn't 'bleed.'

3. Standout eyes: "[Theron] prefers a very nude eye lined on the bottom lid only and a few strategically placed individual faux lashes," Uribe says.
Her favorite eyeshadow palate is Incognito by Dior and it's the makeup artist's favorite as well because "it goes with every skin tone," he says. Here's his step-by-step guide to getting perfect peepers:
Step 1: Apply an eye primer for a lasting look.
Step 2: Apply the brown tone on the lid.
Step 3: Then smudge gently with a brush the Gray Tone on the Crease of your eye.
Step 4: Use the white to beige tone to highlight your brow area.
Step 5: Using a Black Dior Eye Liner gently apply a thin line across the bottom of your lid.
Step 6: To help accentuate your eyes like Charlize, you must wear individual lashes .
Step 7: Complete your look by using Charlize's favorite Dior Mascara Diorshow Extase Instant Oversize Volume Mascara, which also helps boost eyelash growth.
