In advance of a major world tour, Grammy-winning country music stars Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood have listed their 4,200-square-foot rambler in Malibu, California, for $7.5 million -- 50 percent more than they paid a few years ago.

Brooks and Miss Yearwood, as he still affectionately calls her, bought the house in 2008 for just under $5 million, about 10 percent off its original asking price. It was built in 1958 and remodeled in 2007. Listing photos from then and now indicate that the couple kept many of the original furnishings but painted and freshened up the place, reupholstering some of the furniture and painting brickwork, among other cosmetic changes. They seem to be scaling down their real estate holdings. She recently listed her beloved house outside Nashville, Tennessee, which she bought five years before her 2005 marriage to Brooks, a longtime friend. They live primarily in Nashville and Oklahoma.

With his youngest daughter college-bound this fall, Brooks is planning a huge 2014-15 world tour with Yearwood, so they won't be home much for a while anyway. It's his first in more than a decade.
