Yahoo! Canada readers respond: Do you care about the royal baby?

Hear ye! Hear ye! A prince is born.

It’s been a long nine months and finally, he has arrived: Prince George Alexander Louis, Prince of Cambridge.

For some people, it's been the event of the year. From watching hours of the motionless Lindo Wing doors at St. Mary's Hospital on Yahoo!'s live stream to Twitter trends and hashtags, royal lovers just couldn't get enough.

But on the other hand, some people just didn't seem to care.

So we asked Yahoo! Canada users where they stood.

Some users have had enough of it. Period.

"Yawnnnnnn, Wow, Kate is/was able to do what women have been doing for thousands of years," writes Christian.

Rick doesn't find the royals all that entertaining.

"Not all that much. Glad he and his mother are healthy. As far as "future king", it is of minimal interest to me," he writes.

Vancouvertshirt just wants the straight facts.

"It's a baby boy -- end of story" - writes Vancouvertshirt.

Meaagain99 spells it out, plain and simple.

"Not at all," she writes.

On the flip side, others found the coverage was entertaining and enjoyed it.

"Of all the #$%$ on what entertainers wear or don't wear or whose dating or snubbing who I find the news on the little Prince refreshing. All the haters can bite me. I work in a large hospital and everyone was buzzing yesterday about seeing the new baby and learning about his name.…" writes Rosepetals.

Others say they could use a feel-good story to read once in a while.

"It's a cheerful optimistic story, showing the continuity of a institution that is essentially a set of neutral professional ambassadors of a cultural history that spans the globe. Sorry all the cynics can't just turn off the pessimism for a minute and just smile at a short term good news story -- the good news being the birth of a happy, healthy baby," writes Nefertiri.

It would be nice if Canada had some type of political figure to adore (must have a healthy lifestyle, philanthropist mentality, sense of humor, and a good fashion sense).

"I love it!! So admirable that they love their country. Wish we had officials to look up to like that. They must be sooooo proud!!" writes Cami.

But maybe we're just happy that the real life fairytale could continue on past a royal wedding and live happily ever after.

"With all the horrible news stories we hear every day, why not celebrate something wonderful - the birth of a lovely little boy to a handsome young couple on a beautiful summer's day," writes Sara.

And at the end of the day we're glad that some readers had a sense of humor.

"They can have all the kids they want to, as long as they don’t ask me to change the diapers lol," writes John.
