Smythe x HBC Swing Coat

If you haven’t noticed, blanket coats are all the rage this fall — we’ve seen them cropping up on countless runways (hey Burberry, I’m still waiting for my custom poncho). After seeing Blake Lively rock a boldly-patterned A-line blanket coat by Lindsay Thornburg, it’s fair to say we were obsessed. This Smythe x HBC blanket coat was originally created in 2009 as part of a limited edition collection where Canadian designers were asked to create a one-of-a kind coat made from the iconic HBC point blanket. The company produced just 100 pieces, which were snapped up by fashion icons and celebrities like Rachel Bilson. The coat was such a hit that The Bay has been producing it since — and it now comes in a variety of colour combinations.
