We want to know: Do celebrities' imperfections make you feel empowered?
There's no doubt that Chrissy Teigen is one of the realest celebrities out there. She’s frank, hilarious (remember that time she documented drunkenly making a cake on St. Patrick’s Day?) and not afraid to put haters in their place.
Earlier this week, the 29-year-old model made waves when she posted this photo to Instagram with the caption: “Bruises from bumping kitchen drawer handles for a week. Stretchies say hi!”
The photo has racked up a whopping 110 thousand likes on Instagram– and it’s still gaining momentum. Positive comments have been flooding in for the past couple of days:
And in the same week where Pink basically broke the Internet when she fired back against people who slammed her weight, it seems like the body-positive movement is stronger than ever.
On the other hand, on Tuesday, plus-size fashionista and Skorch magazine founder posted a photo of her in a swimsuit with the caption: "THIS IS NOT BRAVE."
She has a pretty good counterpoint -- but still, it can be hard not to look at an icon, regardless of their size, showing off stretch marks, acne or cellulite and not think, "Damn, that took guts."
So, we want to know: Do you think celebrities showing off their imperfections is brave? Does it make you feel more comfortable or empowered as a woman? Or does it just tell you something you already knew? Let us know in the comments!
