Viral video: Kids react to gay marriage proposals

Benny and Rafi Fine, known online as The Fine Bros., recently showed 13 California children between the ages of 5 and 15 two viral proposal videos: one of a man proposing to a man, and one of a woman proposing to a woman.

They filmed the kids' reactions.

"This episode of 'Kids React' will discuss the sensitive subject of same-sex marriage," The Fine Bros. explain in the video. "Which continues to be an issue not just in the United States, but around the world."

"The opinions of children about these issues can give incredibly valuable insight into where our society currently stands and where we are headed as people," they continue. "It's important to discuss these topics openly in hopes of a better tomorrow through dialogue and conversation."

The kids' reactions ranged from initial confusion — "Are they gay?" — to "that was so cute."

"Justin Bieber married a guy," one unsure boy said when explaining what he just saw.

As the kids were asked specific questions about marriage, homosexuality and equal rights, however, it became clear that most of them were on the same page:

"Anyone should be able to marry anyone."

"It used to be illegal for a black person to marry a white person," one kid said. "I don't get why all this stuff has to be illegal."
