Texas hotel fulfills guest’s bizarre request

In an unusual test of loyalty, a Texas resident made a very specific request when booking his hotel stay at Woodlands Resort, close to Houston.

"Three red M&Ms on the counter. Not packages, just three single M&Ms. One for me, one for my girlfriend and one to split if we get hungry late at night. And a picture of bacon on the bed. I love pictures of bacon," he writes online while booking hotel room, which cost nearly $200.

Much to his surprise, when Dustin Wray and his girlfriend Lauren Taylor arrived at their hotel room on July 12, they found his request had been fulfilled, complete with the M&Ms and a picture of bacon.

"I figured real bacon would be too hard to come by," Wray, an account manager for a cloud computing company, tells ABC. "I wrote it so that if they saw it they would laugh because it was stupid but also make it feasible if they actually wanted to fulfill it."

Wray claims that despite his appreciation he forgot to leave a tip for the staff and plans to go back to the resort and right his wrong.

He also post the good deed on Reddit on July 15 in an attempt to give free publicity the hotel as a token of appreciation. The post has garnered over 2,300 comments so far.

Woodlands Resort in turn offered him another stay at the hotel, this time on the house. They proudly boasted of the incident and their stellar customer service skills on their Facebook page.

"I'm glad he didn't ask for us to wrap the bacon around the M&Ms," jokes resort manager, Greg Parsons.

As for Wray, he is so pleased with the resort that he changed his Facebook cover photo to show an image of the news headline: "Woodlands hotel honors weird request."

"I'm definitely going to be going back and I'll right my wrong in the tip department," Wray says. "You never expect something like this to come of it."

It appears that Wray has inspired another man to share his similar bizarre hotel request story on Reddit. User ashleypenny explains how he requested a drawing of a dinosaur on his bed while staying at Hotel Indigo in Newcastle, United Kingdom....and he got it.

Who says customer service is dead? Certainly not these guys.
