‘Teddy Bear Meets Best Friend: Couple introduces baby boy with adorable stop-motion video

To introduce their newborn son to the world, Minnesota couple Chris and Aimee Knutson created a sweet stop-motion video about a teddy bear anxiously anticipating the arrival of his new best friend.

The video begins with the teddy bear spotting a positive pregnancy test, which leads to the adorable stuffed animal dancing on the stairs and a long nine-month wait for his new playmate.

It ends with the arrival of newborn Henry.

"It looks like [Henry's] kind of smiling when he sees the bear. We got kind of lucky there," Chris Knutson tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Henry was born in April, but the video was only posted this month.

"We made it just for Henry and I was a little nervous about posting it at all," Knutson says of the viral video. "But I couldn't help it because I was pretty proud of it and wanted others to see it. Surprisingly, people like it."

Knutson explains that he was intentional about not showing any adult faces in the sweet video, which took 60 to 80 hours to create, citing inspiration from the Muppet Babies and Peanuts.

"All that matters is the kid and the teddy bear," he says. "It's about their world, not ours."

"The bear could totally be a Toy Story character," he adds, admitting that two bears were used in the shoot, one rigged with parts of a thrift-store Buzz Lightyear doll so it could stand up and pose. "We were probably subconsciously inspired by that. We both love a lot of the Pixar stuff."

Creative videos as birth announcements have been charming us for a couple of years now.

Last fall, we shared a sweet video that captured one second a day of a woman's pregnancy, concluding with the birth of a baby girl.

A Latvian couple created a cool time-lapse countdown of their newborn's arrival in this viral video.

And this 2012 video captured an entire pregnancy in just 90 seconds — and concluded with the introduction of baby Amelie Amaya.

Parents, how did you announce your newborn's arrival?
