Canadians really love their coffee. About two-thirds of the adult population drink it daily.

But what's actually going on when your afternoon cup of joe gives you the boost you need to get through your day?

In its latest "Reactions" video, the American Chemical Society looks at the science behind the world's most popular drug, and reveals just how much of a good thing is too much.

(While 75 cups of java will get you to that lethal limit, to be safe, try capping your daily dose at 400 mg — about three 8-oz cups of coffee.)
