Readers’ choice: Best dressed at the 2015 Grammys

The Grammys are the one night in music where anything goes,at least when it comes to fashion – and stars took full advantage of that while walking the red carpet on Sunday night. From Rihanna’s massive Giambattista Valli gown to Madonna’s “50 Shades of Grey”-inspired getup, there was no shortage of eye-catching outfits.

On Sunday, we asked Yahoo Canada readers to cast their vote and weigh in on which star ruled the red carpet.

And the winner is…Taylor Swift!

Thirty per cent of voters thought the “Shake It Off” singer deserved the best-dressed title for her ethereal blue dress designed by Elie Saab.

Personally, we always love to see what Gwen Stefani wears on the red carpet and we were not disappointed by the custom Atelier Versace pantsuit she wore to the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. It seems like Yahoo Canada readers agreed with us – 19 per cent of voters thought that the 45-year-old singer earned top honours.

Not far behind was model Chrissy Teigen, who rounded out the top three with 15 per cent of votes. Mrs. Legend looked white-hot in a long-sleeved Gucci gown with cutout detailing.

Our users also made great cases for some stars we overlooked, including Jennifer Hudson (in Tom Ford), Jane Fonda (in Balmain), Lady Gaga (in Brandon Maxwell) and Nicki Minaj (in Tom Ford).

Here at Yahoo Canada, we were on the fence when it came to Rihanna’s Barbie-like gown, but readers made it clear they didn’t like her dress choice, which her stylist had to “stalk PR” to get his hands on.

“Rihanna’s dress reminded me of a birthday cake I got for my 12th birthday with a doll in the middle and the cake was the ‘dress,’” wrote one user. “The cake looked better.”

“Her dress reminds me of one of those chenille bedspreads,” added another.
