Shine OnPrince William and Kate Middleton will name their baby Philip if it’s a boy, sources say
Looks like the guessing game might finally be over! A royal insider has revealed that if Will and Kate have a boy, he will be named Philip.
According to the Daily Star, the couple will name their baby after Prince William’s grandfather, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.
Apparently, bookies have been offering 20:1 odds on the name. Prince William’s full name is Prince William Arthur Philip, and his father’s full name is Charles Philip Arthur George – so the moniker seems fitting for Will and Kate’s little guy (that is, if it is a little guy).
“The name Philip is definitely in the frame for a boy,” a royal insider reveals. “It will certainly have it somewhere in his name.”

“It is popular with them at the moment and could even be the first name as William is very fond of his grandfather.”
Sources also say that if it is a boy, Prince William will have the final say when it comes to the name.
There’s also been a lot of speculation surrounding the royal baby’s name if it’s a girl. According to Hollywood Life, Elizabeth Diana Carole is the go-to name for a female.
That moniker would honour William’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, as well as Princess Diana. Carole is the latin version of the name Charles, and it’s also Kate’s mother’s middle name.

Last week on a trip to Scotland, the Duchess of Cambridge kept her lips sealed about the baby’s name.
"We have a shortlist for both (boy and girl), but it's very difficult,” she said. “My friends keep texting me names.”
But with just a few months to go in her pregnancy (she did divulge that she’s due mid-July), we’re sure they’ll make a decision soon.
