Ontario woman’s fiancé secretly plans their wedding

Carly Butler will never know what it's like to freak out over silly little wedding-planning details. She returned home from a trip abroad to discover that her fiancé had secretly planned the entire thing.

Early last year, Carly, 29, left her home in Windsor, Ontario, to retrace her grandmother's footsteps in London, England.

She chronicled her adventures at LifesLetter.com.

Carly arrived home in late July. Days later, Carly and her fiancé, Adam, were set to celebrate their reunion with an engagement party with their friends and family.

On the morning of August 3rd, the day of the planned party, Adam gave Carly a letter to read aloud.

She read:

"Good morning gorgeous, this letter is different than all the other letters I have written to you… what I am trying to tell you is today is not our engagement party, it is our wedding."

With the help of his future mother-in-law, Adam had secretly planned every last detail of their big day.

"Turns out, my fiance is the most romantic man on the planet, because him & my mom had been planning our surprise WEDDING since March. I found out at 9am THAT DAY that everything had been arranged…hair, make-up, bridesmaid dresses, photographer, videographers, ceremony, reception, flowers….EVERYTHING! It was the BEST day of our lives, surrounded by those we love. The joy, love & happiness in my heart was overwhelming in the best way possible," Carly wrote on her blog days after their wedding.

A video of Matt's sweet surprise for his then-fiancee is now going viral.

"That's right folks, our wedding video has had over 80,000 views in only a few days. It's a pretty surreal feeling even 7 months later. It sure has been an exciting week reliving the magic of our surprise wedding day all over again," Carly wrote this weekend.

"Thanks again to Steve Shilson of Straylight Films for capturing our day so beautifully."

Last spring, after a series of stressful wedding-planning events, Texan groom Brandon Cassata gave his bride-to-be her dream wedding — seven months early.

And in the summer of 2011, Ontario native Colleen Lippert thought she was showing up at a retirement party. It was actually her own wedding.

Maybe the secret to a stress-free engagement is not having to worry about the big day. Would you be able to just "go with the flow" if you were surprised with a wedding you didn't plan?
