Nudie website founder has change of heart

For about a year, controversial website IsAnyoneUp.com functioned as something of a cautionary tale for those of us who are a little too trigger-happy about snapping and sharing racy photos with our lovers.

The site welcomed submissions of nude photos from those who wished to exact internet revenge on ex-boyfriends, ex-girlfriends, frenemies and more. Recently it has been shut down, but the interesting part is how it was shut down. The founder, Hunter Moore, sold the site to anti-bullying site, Bullyville.com, who then dismantlement the site.

IsAnyoneUp.com founder, Hunter Moore, writes on Bullyville.com:

I never got to take in everything while it was happening because it was going so fast even though there was drama and lots of tears and pissed off parents, I feel blessed and thankful for all of you who came here to support me. I've become friends with the founder of BullyVille, CupidVille, CheaterVille and KarmaVille and he helped me realize that my talents in the programming and social networking world could be channeled in a positive way and we spoke about ways to move on, which is ultimately what I've decided to do. I might do some writing on bullyville.com to help people who have been bullied; I've been on both sides of the fence. I am putting this message up on Bullyville.com to stand up for underage bullying. I think it's important that everyone realizes the damage that online bullying can cause.

Perhaps Moore was visited by the Ghosts of Online Bullying Past, Present and Future?

The jury is out on whether Moore made the sale for the love of money or out of genuine remorse for humiliating total strangers, some of them underage, and mockingly publishing their bits-and-pieces online for all the world to see.

You might even say that the jury is hung.
