Michelle Obama’s Oscars 2013 dress

In the end, it wasn't an actor who presented the Oscar for Best Picture, it was a First Lady.

Michelle Obama, who was introduced by Jack Nicholson, presented the award to "Argo" at the end of the star-studded night.

Obama, who opened the golden envelope from the White House via a video screen, wore a custom Naeem Khan silver beaded gown for her Oscar appearance.

The First Lady paired the deco-inspired dress with her new blunt bangs. Her haircut was also put on show in her official portrait.

Obama paid tribute to the movies "that lift spirits, broaden our minds and transport us to places we never imagined."
