Little boy asks Santa for prosthetic arm so he can play Xbox

While young boys everywhere are drawing up their Christmas wish lists, one lad in particular has an exceptionally moving request.

Six-year-old Christopher Kieze has asked Santa for a prosthetic arm with fingers so he can play Xbox. Born without a left arm, the Long Island, N.Y. youngster just wants to look like all the other kids in his neighbourhood.

"Right now he has nothing, his prosthetic doesn't fit him anymore," mother Christine Kiezek tells CBS.

The family's health insurance does not cover Christopher's prosthetic arm because it is not considered medically necessary.

Lucky for Christopher though, an online GoFundMe campaign started Wednesday has already raised the funds needed to get him his new arm.

"A boy wants an arm for Christmas, we're going to do whatever it takes," says family friend Robert Jackson, who launched the campaign, noting that he cried upon hearing Christopher's wish.

Yet all this attention and fame being paid to his disability is starting to wear on the humble young man, who has already said he takes back his wish.

While the funding goal was $25,000, Jackson admits that in reality $45,000 is required for Christopher's arm.

The fund has raised over $50,000 as of Friday, more than enough to bring a good dose of holiday cheers to one young boy. Any money raised over the funding goal will go towards helping other kids like Christopher.
