Girl’s hilarious reaction to ‘engagement season’

Megan Jones just might be your new best friend.

The University of Tennessee student has been hailed an online heroine for single ladies everywhere after posing for a holiday photo with her friends this weekend.

Aptly named "Engagement Season," the photo shows Megan Jones sitting among a group of girlfriends, three of which are showing off their new engagement rings. Jones forms her hand into the shape of a gun, points it to her head and stares blankly into the camera.

It's a picture-perfect moment that captures the feelings of many women during the month of December, when marriage proposals are at an all-time high.

The photo was posted by a friend of Jones' to Reddit on Saturday, and has since received more than 3,500 comments and 80,000 votes. On Twitter, women are

"Girl on the lower left. Amen," writes one commentor.

"As the only single person in my group of friends, red vest, you are my hero," writes another.

Jones isn't alone in her disdain for engagement season. As Jezebel points out, you don't have to dig very far to find other examples of resistance on Facebook and Twitter.

"It's engagement season, also known as 'consume an entire bottle of wine before logging onto Facebook,'" writes one Twitter user.

"IT'S ALMOST HERE! - Engagement season. Better delete your Facebook accounts now if you want to survive the next 3 months without depression," writes another.
