Five Kraft-Heinz food mashups we'd love to see
Today’s announcement that Heinz would be purchasing Kraft got us thinking… just imagine all the snacking possibilities that open up once two huge food brands join forces. Here’s a list of some of the mashups of Kraft and Heinz products that we’d like to see:
Pre-Ketchup’d Kraft Dinner
This one is incredibly obvious, but it’s such a good idea it bears mentioning anyway. Just imagine it: No more struggling with the exact proportions of ketchup-to-noodle ratios. Just cook up your Kraft Dinner and the ketchupy goodness will already be there. I’d also settle for a packet of ketchup to be thrown in with the box of KD, much like the cheese mixture. Either way, saves me buying ketchup.
Lea & Perrins-flavoured Shake ‘n Bake
The uniquely-flavoured and difficult-to-pronounce condiment Worcestershire sauce has been used on meat for decades, and Shake ‘n Bake is handy for when plain chicken just won’t do. The two are a natural pair, and it would cut out the added step of having to, y'know, actually put sauce on yourself. You're welcome.
Smoothie-flavoured Jello
Did you ever make those creamy Jello Jigglers as a kid? If not, you’re missing out, because they’re delicious. I imagine they could only get better with the inclusion of smoothie flavours, like the Mango and Strawberry Banana ones that Heinz-owned Arthur’s Fresh makes.
Baked beans with bacon bits
Franks & beans are a classic dish, and yes, you can buy that in a can now, but you know what would make that (and everything else) better? Bacon. If you stir in some of the real bacon bits made by Kraft into a can of baked beans -- the product that first made Heinz famous in the early 20th century -- it’d be a slam-dunk.
Cheesy Alpha-Getti
Heinz has its own iconic pasta product, the foodstuff of toddlers everywhere, Alpha-Getti. Kraft’s best-known products are all cheese, and I can think of a few that I would want flavouring my tomato pasta. Velveeta Alpha-Getti sounds like it would either be amazing or absolutely vile, so Kraft? Heinz? Please test out these suggestions before actually making them products.
