Fast food ads vs. reality: Video experiment

YouTube screengrab

We're well aware here at Yahoo Canada Shine that sometimes fast food ads don't stack up to the real thing.

But is it even possible to get something that resembles the picture on the menu board? The folks behind the MediocreFilms YouTube channel set out to find out.

In the undercover video experiment, the host returns his sad-looking orders at McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's and Jack in the Box and asks if the staff can make his food look more like the advertisements. They're surprisingly obliging, and the results on the second attempt look much closer to what the companies advertise.

It would appear that all you have to do to get a better looking fast food meal is ask.
