Fashion Week publicist Lynn Tesoro sues French magazine editor for reportedly slapping her

Fashion can be dangerous.

"Don't f*** with French people," Jalouse editor Jennifer Eymere told PR guru Lynn Tesoro after slapping her across the face before the well-received Zac Posen show at New York Fashion Week on Sunday.

Tesoro is now suing the Paris-based magazine editor for a whopping $1 million, claiming "assault, battery, emotional distress, slander and/or libel."

Eyemere was with her mother, sister and Marie-José Susskind-Jalou, president of Jalou publishing house, when they didn't have enough seats at the show for all of them. Fire marshals removed 60 seats from the balcony of Avery Fisher Hall.

Soon the three women were screaming at Tesoro, the PR head for the show.

A witness describes the scene to Page Six.

"Lynn Tesoro was trying to help the French women find a seat, explaining there were no seats available on the front row, but one of the ladies seemed very angry and was being really mean to her. Suddenly, one of the French women sharply slapped Lynn in the face and stormed off. Lynn seemed in shock, but she was very elegant about it and kept her composure. Nobody could believe it had a happened."

"It was a 'Whoa' kind of moment," another witness tells WWD. "On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being a knockout punch and one being a pat on the cheek, it was a five. The sound could be heard."

Tesoro confirmed reports that she was slapped across the face at the event, then filed a lawsuit less than 72 hours after the incident.

Eyemere admits the action to WWD.

"I said, 'Don't speak to my mom like this. You have to stop to speak like that.' I said, 'Be careful, I am going to slap you,' and she kept doing it, and it just happened."

"I am sorry, I know it's bad to do that," she adds. "It was a small slap. It was not strong. I didn't hurt her, it was just to humiliate her. She humiliated my mom, and I humiliated her in front of her crew. Voilà. I just said at the end, 'Now you know you don't f*** with French people.'"

Posen sent Eymere a note of apology the next day for the seating mishap.

A New York Post's source claims the three French women have not been on any New York Fashion Week guest lists since the incident.
