Fashion Night Out comes to Toronto: Here are the deals

Sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the shopping day for a fashionista to get her fashion fill. Fortunately for Torontonians, New York City's fabulous late night shopping event Fashion's Night Out is debuting in Toronto Thursday evening. Many of the Big Smoke's choicest boutiques, salons and malls will be open late and offering special deals, promotions and yummy food and drink. There will also be fashion shows, celebrity appearances, and plenty of designers on hand to tell you all about their work.

The good news is that vendors are participating across the GTA, the bad news is that you likely won't be able to hit everything in the one night. Take a look at some of these sure to please favourites, or consult the full guide and create you're own shopping itinerary.

Aveda

Time to get your bangs trimmed? Head to any Aveda in the city and they'll give you a complimentary fringe fix, snacks and drinks, and the opportunity to sample their fall makeup line.

Eaton Centre

Sometimes shopping is a numbers game. To maximize your time, head to Eaton Centre (220 Yonge Street, 6pm-11pm), where numerous retailers will be open long past their regular bedtimes. Or stop by early for the 7:30 fashion show featuring apparel by retailers Stuart Weitzman, Juicy Couture and GAP. Throughout the evening there will be giveaways via Twitter (www.twitter.com/toeatoncentre).

199 Corbo

119 Corbo (6pm-9:30pm, 119 Yorkville Avenue) in Yorkville is doing it up the old fashioned way, with chocolate, champagne and couture - peruse the gowns by Yves Saint Laurent and Givenchy, but don't touch unless you're ready to drop some serious coin.

The Spot on Queen

For more down-to-earth fashion fare, head to The Spot on Queen (627 Queen St. West, 6pm-11pm), where classic films like Casablanca and Wild Orchid will be screened. Shoppers can peruse collections by local favourites like Scarf Party and Calisto Designs. Then head west to Preloved (881 Queen St W, 6pm-9pm), for repurposed vintage items and hourly giveaways.

Other spots in Ontario

And if you're not from Toronto, don't despair! Fashion's Night Out will also debut in other parts of Ontario, particularly in Chatham, where dozens of stores are participating. Platinum Blond (100 King Street West, Chatham, 6pm-11pm) will host a beach party and free concert with These Kids Wear Crowns, and down the street Sonya Roe Jewellers (138 King Street West Suite 101) is hosting an "ice party" complete with a vodka tasting bar, sugary pastel treats and a special photo booth.

Whether you buy a new wardrobe or leave your wallet at home, you'll be sure to end the evening a little tipsy with a full stomach and at least a few freebies in your purse.
