Shopping can be a bit of a relationship conundrum. Many women love to browse, spend, mull and drool over store items, even if they have no intention of buying them, while men are notoriously known for despising the mall, bored at every turn and antsy to get out as quickly as possible.

So, what's a retail-loving gal to do? Well, the Chinese may have a solution.

Introducing "husband daycares" -- a dedicated room in the mall where loving wives and girlfriends can drop their husbands and boyfriends off while they shop-till-they-drop. The men spend their time chatting, surfing the web, smoking and reading, reports Kotaku.

The best part is these daycare centres have glass walls, presumably so that the women can zoom past periodically to check-up on their husbands.

While we have yet to see a "husband daycare" pop up in North America, they are a growing trend among the Chinese, who are proving themselves to be world innovators once again. The first one appeared in 2006, and just recently a new one was opened in a mall in Guigang City.

Kotaku readers were quick to poke fun of the phenomenon.

"We have that in my local mall too. We call it GameStop though," writes one commentator.

"But if your husband is in storage, who's carrying all the stuff you just bought? Use your heads, Chinese wives," says another.

The phenomenon, however, is not as uncommon as you might think. An Ikea store in Sydney, Australia launched their version of a "husband daycare" called Manland in 2011.
