Dayna Morales, gay waitress in restaurant receipt flap may be compulsive liar

Dayna Morales -- the New Jersey waitress who said she was denied a tip because she is gay -- has had her credibility further called into question, as former friends and coworkers have come forward and are calling her a compulsive liar.

The former U.S. Marine made international headlines a couple weeks ago when she posted a receipt on Facebook that showed a family's restaurant bill for $93.55 with a hateful message: "I'm sorry but I cannot tip because I don't agree with your lifestyle and how you live your life."

The validity of the 22-year-old's claim was initially called into question this week when the family she accused of denying her a tip said that they had in fact given her a very generous tip and fully support gay rights.

And now, a number of Morales former acquaintances have spoken to the media about a series of supposed lies she has told over the last several years.

"She said that her dad raped her and got her pregnant," former friend Kiersten Bremer tells The Daily Caller. Morales then claimed that cervical cancer killed her baby, but later admitted the story was a lie, according to Bremer.

Another former friend tells The Journal News that Morales lied about being blown up by landmines overseas while in the navy.

A spokesperson for the navy says that while Morales did serve from July 2009 to May 2013, she was never stationed overseas in either Afghanistan or Iraq. NBC reports she was dishonourably dismissed from the U.S. Navy last spring because she stopped attending drills.

Other former coworkers say Morales lied about having terminal brain cancer and about Superstorm Sandy sending a boat through her home.

"Every story she comes up with has a lie," says former coworker Julie Howat

"She lies about everything," says former ex-girlfriend Samantha Reidy.

"You can't believe much of what she says," says former classmate and coworker Karolee Larkin.
