Cronut creator Dominique Ansel unveils gluttonous new pastry hybrid

It's hard to believe Cronut creator Dominique Ansel only just dunked his very first Oreo cookie in milk recently.

But we sure are glad he did -- the famous New York City pastry chef introduced his latest dessert hybrid Wednesday, and it bears a striking resemblance to the classic milk and cookie combo.

Allow us to introduce you to the Chocolate Chip Cookie Milk Shot.

Essentially, the gluttonous treat is a cookie shaped into a shot glass and filled with fresh milk. We can't help but wonder why no one else thought of this before.

He tells Eater that he was inspired to create this concoction after trying an Oreo with milk for the first time a few weeks ago, a combination he says is uncommon in French culture.

"If everyone was drinking milk with cookies, you might as well make a dessert that allows them both to be combined," he says.

Dominique Ansel Bakery has made a limited batch of the cookie shot glasses to be served to 40,000 hungry guests at SXSW (South by Southwest), a technology, music and film festival held in Austin, Texas, this weekend.

He made the announcement on his company Facebook and Instagram pages on Wednesday, and naturally, the first question on everyone's mind is whether the pastry chef will start stocking the hybrid in his bakery.

His reply? "We'll see!"

Ansel will also be making his coveted Cronuts for the event.
