Carrie Bradshaw’s Sex and the City home on sale for $9.65 million

Ah, what one wouldn't give to live the life of Sex and the City's lead Carrie Bradshaw -- dating a slew of attractive men and writing about it in her weekly column, being single and fabulous in Manhattan with a group of like-minded girlfriends always on hand for a gossip-filled lunch. Not to mention the walk-in closet full of Manolo Blahniks in that enormous Upper East Side apartment. Getting paid $4/word to write for Vogue doesn't hurt, either.

Well, ladies, it can all be yours for the very low price of $9.65 million, reports the Daily Mail. And by "all," really it's just the townhouse, not the entirely fictional and unrealistic life that she lived on her meagre writer's salary. Sadly, the closet will be empty. And the apartment is actually not in the Upper East Side at all, but rather, on 64 Perry Street in the West Village.

Carrie's famous abode was just one small part of the 4,100-sq-ft, four-storey townhouse that's up for grabs, reports the Daily Mail. The home, built in 1866, has 1o rooms and six fireplaces in total, with high ceilings, ornate gold detailing and parquet wood floors. Sotheby's, the realtor for the property, tells the Daily Mail it "is waiting to be restored to its original grandeur."

Translation: Be prepared to embark on major renovations.

In recent years, the property has changed ownership several times, going up in price each time. In fact, according to the New York Times, it was on the market as recently as last September for $8.5 million.

Money can't buy happiness, but what it can buy is those brownstone steps and that street-facing window, where one lucky millionaire can gaze out longingly, waiting for her own Mr. Big to pull up in a chauffeured town car.
