Anxious about his upcoming Grade 8 dance, Ontario boy asks strangers to teach him some moves

Sam Barringer, a self-described "geeky" 13-year-old from Hamilton, Ont. — who probably has a career in politics to look forward to, if his previous videos are any indication — had just two weeks before his Grade 8 graduation to learn how to dance.

(The kid does have some moves. But is "Justin Trudeau Style" really going to get you a partner come slow-dance time?)

So he hung outside the Rogers Centre in Toronto, asking strangers for some help in the dance department.

And help he got. Because sometimes "awkward triumphs."

"I figured if I felt this awkward and worried about my Grade 8 graduation dance then others like me must be fretting about it too. And well I want them to feel like it is all going to be OK," Sam writes to Shine On.

"I figure there must be way more awkward kids than cool kids," he adds.

Would you, at 13, have the nerve to ask strangers to teach you to dance? Or were you more like Angelina Jolie, who apparently never went through an awkward stage?

If you've got a year, you could always follow this woman's lead: she went from newbie to an impressive dancer in just 12 months!

Good luck at Grade 8 grad, Sam!
