Make Your Own Shrimp Burgers

By HerGameLife Professional Chef Sonia

It's officially BBQ season and time to add a new dish to your standard rotation of hot dogs, hamburgers, and baked beans. Your friends and family will flip over these awesome and tasty Shrimp Sliders. They are not nearly as hard to make as they sound.

What you need:

1 pound raw peeled and deveined small shrimp

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper or 1 teaspoon hot sauce

1 lemon juiced

1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning

Salt and pepper

Put the shrimp in food processor and rough chop. Transfer the shrimp to a bowl using a rubber spatula. Add 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon cayenne, lemon juice, salt and pepper to the bowl, to season. Stir the shrimp mixture to combine.

Preheat a large nonstick skillet over medium to medium high heat. Add oil. Use a small, round metal cookie cutter to mold the shrimp burger mixture. Gently pat down to form patties. (This can be done the night before). Fry patties 3 to 5 minutes on each side, until they firm up and the shrimp turn pink.

Now the shrimp burger on it's own is delicious. But what makes any sandwich stand out is its toppings. Yeah yeah, we already know that lettuce and tomatoes go on every burger. But again, let's top it with something new like candied lemons or even guacamole.
