While growing older puts you at risk for age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a condition that results in blurred vision, a high-fat diet lacking antioxidants also plays a role. According to the American Optometric Association, a daily dose of ten milligrams of lutein and two milligrams of zeaxanthin (found in one cup of leafy greens like kale, spinach, and collard greens) can improve vision and reduce the risk of developing AMD. 1 cup chopped sautéed spinach + 2 eggs + 1 ounce goat cheese + ¼ cup sautéed yellow onion
