Restaurant Gives Breastfeeding Moms a Much-Needed Rest (and Free Tea, Too)

We've seen some good--and some not-so-good--responses to the public breastfeeding debate. A local French cafe in Cheltenham, England falls in the thumbs-up camp.

Brasserie Blanc posted a sign encouraging breastfeeding moms to "pop in and have a free cup of tea if you need a pit stop." An admiring customer uploaded a photo of the sign to RefreshMe, a Facebook page about parenting and breastfeeding, and the post quickly gained thousands of likes.

Emma O'Connor, the restaurant's general manager, came up with the idea after she helped an exhausted mom. "I made her a cup of tea and she looked like I'd given her a million pounds," she told The Independent.

O'Connor also clarified the policy applies to bottlefeeding moms as well, and even moms who simply need a break. "We think a little bit of love is a simple thing, the restaurant wrote on Facebook.
