I expect your question resonates with a big swath of our readers who are children of divorce. Technically, the role of stepparents is uncharted territory, as who walks whom down the aisle is no longer dictated by a hard-and-fast rule. The bad news: It's up to you-but that's the good news as well. In order to keep all feathers (and tuxedo shirts) unruffled, I recommend having an honest conversation with your mother first, to gauge the emotional temperature of all parties involved. You could walk alone, but you could also have them both walk you down the aisle, or have your mother take you down. No matter your decision, I applaud your sensitivity.
