Lupita Nyong'o's Stylist Tells You How to Look Awesome

It's no secret that Academy Award winning actress Lupita Nyong'o is one of our favorite style stars here at Glamour HQ--she always looks so amazing, both on and off the red carpet.

Nyong'o may have a great eye, but she has a little help in the wardrobe department. Her stylist Macaela Erlanger recently dished to ABC News about dressing the emerging star.

"It's been a whirlwind, that's for sure," Erlanger said. "I think the moment that really changed the game was her in the red Ralph Lauren gown. That, to me, really solidified her as an icon, as a star."

As for how everyone can channel Nyong'o's awesomeness and glamour in real life? Erlanger has three main tips: photograph yourself from all angles in a new outfit to see how it looks, don't be afraid to experiment with color, and go for that element of surprise.

"Take pictures of yourself in front, side, and back to see how things read," she said. And, "I love bold hues. People shouldn't be afraid of color."
