Celebs love Emily Elizabeth's jewelry and hair accessories -- and we can see why! Whimsical yet chic, stylish yet not uber-trendy, her pieces are the ones you'll want to wear again and again for just that touch of glamour with a girly wink on the side.

Designer Emily Elizabeth Kolins tells us that when she graduated from college, she found herself with a degree but without a defined career choice. She convinved her parents to give her the summer "off" to explore her professional calling,, and she took the time to figure out how she could turn her passion for accessories and design into a full-time career.

Encouraged by friends and family, Emily created a small collection of pieces in the fall of 2006 and Emily Elizabeth Jewelry was officially launched! Primarily working with gold plated brass charms, Emily aims to create pieces that are feminine and classic, while still modern and whimsical. Emily purposefully designs and prices her jewelry so that women can afford to wear something special and feel beautiful every day.

We chatted with Emily to find all about her inspiration, her sense of style, and her guilty pleasures!

What drew you to jewelry design? How did you get started?

I actually started making jewelry on a whim! I graduated college with an English degree not knowing what I wanted to do, so I went back to my childhood hobby of making jewelry. After making a small collection and having my friends and family wear and buy my pieces, I realized I had "something" there and the rest is history!

What was the first piece you ever worked on?

I'm not sure what the first piece was but my first collection was very different from my current pieces by being more abstract and geometrical and including gemstones.

What inspires you?

My intuition and general instinct of what I think will be on trend.

Do you have a favorite item?

I don't have a favorite piece but I really love my wishbone necklace. It's perfect for everyday because it's simple and classic.

Have you ever created something and ended up not liking it?

Definitely. I think it's important to not like everything that you create. By editing your collection you know that what you end up showing is the best.

You have quite a celebrity following! If you could have any famous woman wear your jewelry, who would it be?

Kate Middleton would be awesome! So feminine, classic and classy.

Who do you design for?

I design for myself first because it's important for every piece to be something I'd wear and be proud of.

What was your latest purchase (for yourself)?

A bunch of basic t-shirts. So not fun or extravagant but I've just recently gotten into a gym-kick and I treated myself to a completely need t-shirt wardrobe. I'm a bit late to get into shape for summer but I figure looking and feeling good should be a year-round thing so it's all good!

What are your guilty pleasures?

Reality TV and Mexican food (chips are a major weakness!)

What are 3 things you always carry with you?

I hate carrying a ton of stuff so I like to keep it basic: keys, wallet and cellphone.

What is your first fashion memory?

Both of my parents worked in the garment center so fashion as a whole has been a part of my entire life! One of my earliest memories is rummaging through my moms jewelry box which is actually a giant printers box with countless drawers so I had a ton to try on!
