7 Decorating Ideas I Got from IKEA

7 Decorating Ideas I Got from IKEA

On my last trip to IKEA, I decided to take a few photos. I get a bit overwhelmed when I'm there and by the time I get to the warehouse section, I've completely forgotten what displays I liked or ideas I wanted to take home with me. Sound familiar? Here are 7 ideas I wanted to remember for inspiration, from a laundry room layout to entryway organizing to textiles.

1. The Laundry Room
Right now, my family has a side by side washer/dryer setup, but I'd really like a sink to treat stains, hand-wash sweaters, or even just wash things I don't necessarily want to wash in my bathroom sink or bathtub. I also love the racks above the sink for drying things that can't go in the dryer. I most definitely like this idea for the laundry. The only thing missing is a dryer, perhaps this call for a stacking washer/dryer.

2. Entryway Organizing
My home totally needs a space like this near the entryway to keep mail from being strewn about. I'm thinking of one in an entryway closet, so I can just hide it away. But it's not bad out either. It could be in the kitchen as part of a place to do homework.

3. Kitchen Organizing
I love the traditional look of the FINTORIP wire baskets. The hooks for utensils keep everything within arm's reach, instead of hidden away in a drawer.

4. Anywhere Organizing
I've been eying the FINTORP cutlery stands for a while. I've bought one rod and the wire versions, which I still haven't hung yet as I'm a little unsure where, but I like these for storage of cutlery or to grow herbs. I never would've though of that myself.

I also want to try this Roman blind idea. It looks great with the wooden blinds behind it and the plants in front. The colors layer well together and create a very cozy kitchen.

6. The Art of the Display
The placement of all of these frames is perfect. The white mat looks so clean, and I like that the photographs are in the larger frames and other art in smaller frames.

7. Pretty Fabrics
This may be a bit too feminine for some rooms, but just a little bit of floral fabric refreshes the room as much as a vase of fresh flowers.
