First, several major magazines started airbrushing models so they'd look heavier. Next, American Apparel and Illamasqua ran ads featuring grey-haired models who are in their 70s.

Now, Nordstrom just announced their national campaign will feature Angela Rockwood, a quadriplegic who struggled for years to break back into modeling after a tragic car accident left her wheelchair-bound. (Rockwood stars in the new Sundance channel series "Push Girls")

I don't know about you, but seeing a slew of normal women staring back at me as I flip through my favorite magazines is refreshing. I'm psyched to see who breaks the mold next. I mean, how cool would it be if Gucci hired Betty White or Christina Hendricks as their next spokesmodel?

What do you think: Is this trend here to stay or just a temporary gimmick? Do you want to see more "real" girls in your ads?
