Would you wear a divorce ring?

We've heard of women transforming their engagement rings into new pieces of jewelry after a divorce, or even celebrating their newly single status with divorce parties, but the latest craze is women buying symbolic divorce rings.

Bride Finds has brought our attention to the 18K gold Spritzer and Furman "Divorce Ring" set with four full-cut diamonds and center trillon diamond. It can be yours for $3,200.

We get that this is supposed to be an empowering thing, and maybe some women will be so excited and relieved to be free from their exes they'll be psyched to have a piece of jewelry representing their split. But on the other hand, wearing a ring of a broken heart split by a diamond bolt might look a little nuts. Like now when an eligible bachelor checks your ring finger to see if you're married, he'll see this design symbolizing your dead marriage. Hmm.

Yes, and I do. It's a plain, thin silver band to keep my other favorite ring from falling off my finger.

Oh, I'm sure my fiance's ex would wear it proudly! She was so happy to be divorced. I just don't understand how losing the most generous, most gentle, most caring person in the world makes her this happy, who is also a fabulous father and a very devoted, loyal partner! She had a party and everything! My fiancee celebrated his official divorce by asking me to marry him :) I am now looking for wedding rings that match my beautiful engagement ring that is a family heirloom from the 1980's. Much better than a cheesy, self-mocking divroce ring. I might have to throw up if I have to look at that picture again :)

We need to go back to celebrating marriage, the loving relationship between a husband and wife, to protect it from all harm, to bring children into the family unit, to bring them up to be responsible men and women and complete the circle of love!

I have worn a divorce ring for 14 years. I wear it on my right had so it looks like a cocktail ring. But my new wedding set is absolutely gorgeous and so is my husband. I have a Bubba Louie tattoo on my thigh and I tell everyone it's a picture of my ex. For those who don't know or remember Bubba Louie was a sidekick Donkey or Jackass to Quickdraw McGraw the horse that was a sheriff.

I wouldn't wear a ring like that! Most self-respecting women wouldn't. And if I were a single female and saw a man wearing a ring like that I'd run! It screams "EMOTIONAL BAGGAGE!!!"

I don't think they are celebrating failure, it would be celebrating freedom or a new beginning

A punching bag with a photo of your abusive husband would be so much more satisfying...Most women are NOT looking for another man to hurt and humiliate them!

        Very one sided comment.

@ Jjsheepdog, your name speaks volume. I see more and more women becoming abusive both verbally and physically. Are you a Lesbian by the way?

Wow. That's giving your ex the power to make you mad and want to hit things. Just totally get him out of your life and that includes anger as well as memories.

Why is it ok to stereotype divorced woman as money grabbers, ball busters....the same stereotyping against black people, Jews etc. is unacceptable, so why is it ok if it is directed at a woman? I never see the N word used but men use the B word on yahoo very easily. Disgusting. If someone wants to redesign their ring after a divorce who the hell cares? Bad marriages happen to women too!

Hey Vi; now that it comes to definition of what really women R you bring up social issues such as blacks,jews,..etc
Regardless of Race,nationality,religion,colour,....etc Women are all the same BI..ches.
      • Johnny Toronto 8 months ago
Why, well it's because men don't get these things. It's all about female empowerment - paid for by men.
    • immigrant  •  8 months ago
I think women should wear a ring Saying I palish my bosses knob for promotion,or wear a ring saying give me money Ild do anything,or a ring say if u try me Ill make your life a living hell and so many rings of indication of what type of bi..ches they R......So man would know what type of women they R dealing with

I understand that in some cases a divorice is a cause for celebration, but in those cases this symbol is all wrong. If your relationship was that emotionally damaging and you feel so wonderful to be free of it that you want to not only celebrate, but show the world that you're a happy and healthy survivor, then why the broken heart. It seems to me it would go from broken to whole?!
    • angel  •  8 months ago
if they want to wear it who cares? i dont see why women should care what other men care about when they just got rid of one they really didnt want.
    • Clearcom  •  8 months ago
