Previously touted by the Guinness World Records as the world’s hottest pepper, the Bhut Jolokia chili has the power to leave humans immediately speechless, and weak-in-the-knees for hours.

If you can finish this throat-scorching Indian curry, which often contains roughly 10 different peppers, your restaurant of choice may even offer you a certificate for lasting through the sweat session.

Found in restaurants all over China, the hotpot soups in this region are amongst the spiciest you can dip any beef, noodle or tofu into – if you dare.

After hearing about this spicy pork mixture (sometimes left off menus and only made at request of the bravest restaurant-goers!) we won’t be surprised if it’s a tad too fiery for our palettes.
