Whenever we get the chance to jet-set, trying out new restaurants is at the top of our list. But as much as we enjoy dining out, we can’t always stomach paying for a meal at the priciest place in town.

If you’re not ready to splurge, click through our gallery to see what you may be missing from the most expensive restaurants around the world.

    1. Aragawa in Tokyo
Serving up seriously special Kobe beef (sourced strictly from only one local farm), this high-end steak house is just one of the tiny hidden gems in the Shinbashi district.

    Aragawa; Onarimon Odakyu Bldg., 1st fl.3-23-11, Tokyo, Japan; 011 81 7 8221 8547

From guinea-fowl pie to caviar, you’ll fall hard for the authentic French cuisine at this luxury hotel (if you can peel your eyes away from the drop-dead-gorgeous décor, that is).

    3. Gordon Ramsay in London
We’re huge fans of Gordon Ramsay’s cookbook, but we can only dream of enjoying his delicious concoctions in London. If we do ever make it to this British hotspot, the mango, jasmine and passionfruit soup is totally topping our list.

    5. C in Vancouver
While fresh and local fish and seafood make this a popular place, it’s the waterfront location that we find divine.

What no prices? How can we relate to an expensive eatery if you cannot even tell us how much the dishes are? Yahoo you still suck.

Totally irrelevant article without sample prices. What are we going to use as a comparison? Come on Yahoo contact your CEO and get those prices!

This writer could not afford to go into these restaurants to give the commentors on here the prices so don't blame him/her. He/she got you the address and phone number so can check it out yourself. On another note... I've been to an expensive Chinese restaurant in Waikiki Honolulu where the most famous people in the world like Obama; Michael Jackson & the Japanese Royals etc... have been; I thought the food there was good but should not be that expensive. Your local favourites still have better food than these places.

99% of the population couldn't afford to eat at these places anyway. I ate once at one of these super-expensive spots (I was someone's guest) and, to be honest (and it's not sour grapes), I wasn't overly impressed. Pretentious to the max. Food was ok but nothing to write home about. I've eaten at places a LOT less expensive where the food was just as good. These snotty expensive restaurants are all about show. Snotty people surrounded by other snotty people.

No prices given? Anyway there are some good restaurants and there are some bad ones. Still no one should pay an arm and a leg for to eat. It is our right to survive. Secondly the heavier prices you pay are for more decoration on the plate. These guys have never been told to not play with their food by their mother. Pricey restaurants don't equate good meals always. In fact you still come home to your kitchen for more than a snack. Where did the beef go.

I have no idea, why some breakfast can cost 2.50.in one restaurant, and 30.00 in other??????????? Maybe they put date and size of the cook's underwear on the bill.
