Nicolas Ghesquière and Kristen Stewart, Photo Courtesy of BalenciagaWhile we had learned that Kristen Stewart would be working with Balenciaga some time ago for the label's new fragrance Florabotanica, Nicolas Ghesquière, creative director of the brand, has only just revealed that he'd chosen Stewart to front what's set to be the label's most successful scent.
The fragrance is inspired by his Spring 2008 collection, which prominently featured 3D painterly florals. The bottle takes its design from laboratory bottles, featuring a striped tube, while the scent's name invokes both the worlds of science and nature, one of the central themes explored in Ghesquière's 2008 collection. The scent itself is based on notes of amber and caladium-leaf, with hints of rose, carnation and mint.

Stewart will be pictured wearing a look from the collection in the campaign, shot by Steven Meisel, though the actress has mentioned that there was an emphasis on her looking comfortable and natural in the shot, rather than stiff or overtly model-esque.
While we were initially surprised upon hearing that K. Stew had been chosen as the face of the brand, having recently been deemed Hollywood's highest-earning actress by Forbes, Stewart may be the perfect choice for Balenciaga's attempt at mass appeal with this scent.
Watch Now: On set with Kristen Stewart, the new face of Florabotanica by Balenciaga landing in Canada this October. Designer Nicolas Ghesquiere joins the A-list actress for her fragrance campaign shoot by legendary photographer Steven Meisel.
