To celebrate the opening of the new Women’s Designer Galleries in their London store, Selfridges is launching The Film Project, a special exhibition at Old Selfridges Hotel and worldwide online from March 15th to 26th. The Project is a bespoke short film collection that brings together cutting-edge talents from fashion and film. It will feature designers as diverse as Alexander McQueen, Comme des Garçons, Dries Van Noten, and Rick Owens, and directors including Ruth Hogben and Michael C. Pitt (of Boardwalk Empire and, more appropriately, Prada’s current men’s campaign). Selfridges Creative Director Alannah Weston asked only that the filmmakers feature an inspiring woman that embodies modern femininity. Last night, the store hosted an exclusive premiere with contributors Sarah Burton, Ann Demeulemeester, Gareth Pugh, and Pitt. Tune in on Selfridges.com now to catch these moments of fashionable art.
