Weirdly, paint companies have a habit of changing their colour fan decks. To be honest, I don’t really understand the point, but the end result is that I end up with lots of paint decks and paint chips that I’m not supposed to use. So with that in mind, I thought I would create a little art project using them, because nothing says I love you like homemade art.
For all three projects, I started by taping paint chips together to create a gradated colour background. In one frame, I simply framed as is, in one I layered yellow over red, and cut a large heart out of the yellow so that the red showed through (being careful to line up the place where the colour changes) and for the last one I printed the words I LOVE YOU on a piece of white paper, cut out the letters and put a paint chip behind it. I think I’ll give one to my husband, one to my son and one to my daughter, although they look awfully sweet hung together!
Paint colour is CIL’s Take the Plunge. Yum, I want to live in that colour!
Purse is by Roots. Frames and vase, Ikea and the amazing little bird mobile from the Japanese Paper Place. The hilarious beaded animal is MonkeyBiz, from Eat My Words.
Happy Valentine’s day to everyone!
