    Quick Tip: Freeze Your Jeans

The Benefits to Freezing Your Jeans

Denim retailers from Levi's to Gap want you to stop washing your jeans after every wear. Ultimately, the more you wash, the more water you waste and the more your denim will fade. To benefit the planet and your wallet, freeze your jeans instead. By slipping your pants into a plastic bag and tossing them in the freezer for a night or two, you can kill odour causing bacteria, preserve your worn-in fit, and maintain the colour so that they'll look brand new way longer. Plus, you will end up doing laundry less frequently. Time for a bigger freezer.

Is there an alternative? My mother-in-law is taking up a lot of room in the freezer.

yup, and if you get a sore throat, chop tomato, stuff it into your sock and wear it for a day...

well if this is true then I guess everyone in the praries or most of Canada do not need to wash their jeans that often 8 months out of the year. Just go outside. Instant freeze and disinfecting.

I think yahoo has run out of this to write about ... because really?

If you are that dirty that you need to wash jeans every single time you wear them... They're good for 2 wears, maybe even 3, just like a sweater or hoodie.

RE: the first sentence in the article: am I an unsanitary person who needs to learn proper hygiene? It never occurred to me that jeans should to be washed after EVERY wear. Am I the only one?

I will continue to wash mine. I get several wearings out of a pair before I wash them.

See what crack does? They "may" be germ free, but they're STILL filthy and baggy instead of crisp, blue and smell good!

WTF!! You got to be kidding?? Who's idea was this and how much did they get paid?? Try working on a farm and see if you would want to put my jeans in your fridge??

Why do I suspect some moron will now be found dead wearing jeans in a freezer.

Oh come on!....Freeze your jeans is one of the stupid reasons I don't read most of these new tips~

BS. If this works, Levi's and Gap would probably want you to stop freezing your jeans and start washing them more, so that they wear out faster and they make more sales. I think the Maytag people or the Ziploc "XXXXL freezer bags for jeans" people must be behind this article instead :)

OK whatever. I will continue to wash my pants not freeze them!!
