Many of you mentioned what is perhaps the most unassuming gift of all and that you've tucked safely in your jewelry box or keep in your purse just to feel in your hands and remember the love with which it was given—a plain old gray rock. Whether it was snatched from the garden, picked up at the park, or dug out of little pockets, mothers clearly love it when kids given them dirty, old, wonderful tokens of love. Krystal explains:
"My best Mother's Day gift is from my son, when he was 4-years old he gave me a rock, a cement rock he found playing outside. We lived by ourselves so no one had reminded him that it was Mother's Day. He just came into my room before breakfast and said, 'Happy Mother's Day! 'and gave me the rock. I still have it; he's 10 now and still just as thoughtful."
