Models Fall Through Fashion Week. Dangerous Job?

What a boob....

Why do they fall? Have you seen the platforms and heels on the shoes they wear? I'd like to see how men would fair if they had to wear the same ridiculous fashions and footwear...that would definitely put an end to such dangerous shoes as men would not "stand" for it.

Platform shoes, a platform for torn ankle ligaments

I was window shopping as usual. I was shocked to see these heels that are 6 inches in height. I am amazed that not more women are falling or breaking a limb.

C'mon these women are walking on stilts and the industry is friggin cruel.
Shorten the freak of a frock and lower the heels. Eventually there will be a whole demographic of aging women with humpbacks .Still have to wonder how you instantly turned into a Quasi-Modene?
These waify models are 90 pounds wet and their dresses are usually more than half their body weight. Then they have to balance it on an inch of base. How half of these women cross the road without being hit while in running shoes is a miracle in of itself ~ so don't making it any more difficult for them with extra challenges. Seriously, why don't you just grease the catwalk and put up pretty shiny objects for them to be mesmerized by ?

I wonder who pays for their time off when they break or sprain their foot

when the floors are smooth like that it creates confusion. People should think right and make the floors less smooth and sew dresses in the way that models can have flexibility

Work place safety standards must apply to fashion show stages. It's stupid to be expected prancin on slippery floors while walking on stilletos. Where's women's liberation? When do women learn that being sexy should not be mixed with being on the verge of imminent danger! Sickos in the fashion industry and women themselves (masochismo)

If only the rest of the fashion industry would come back down to earth.

What a pointless waste of time it all is.

I just found out that out of all the jobs, that put on this show the models get paid the least. I do makeup and would be making 20k to 25k for the week!!!

What about the platform and runway ? Why are they so slippery or facilitating tumbles, slips and falls ? This isn't funny. Serious injuries could happen. Pretty sad that a model has to suffer such humiliation because someone else isn't doing their job in ensuring their safety.
